Protocol 1 Annexed to the Universal Copyright Convention as revised at Paris on 24 July 1971 concerning the application of that Convention to works of Stateless persons and refugees

Stateless persons and refugees who have their habitual residence in a State party to this Protocol shall, for the purposes of the 1971 Convention, be assimilated to the nationals of that State.

(a) This Protocol shall be signed and shall be subject to ratification or acceptance, or may be acceded to, as if the provisions of Article VIII of the 1971 Convention applied hereto.

(b) This Protocol shall enter into force in respect of each State, on the date of deposit of the instrument of ratification, acceptance or accession of the State concerned or on the date of entry into force of the 1971 Convention with respect to such State, whichever is the later.

(c) On the entry into force of this Protocol in respect of a State not party to Protocol 1 annexed to the 1952 Convention, the latter Protocol shall be deemed to enter into force in respect of such State.

Staatlozen en vluchtelingen, die hun vast verblijf hebben in een bij dit Protocol aangesloten Staat, worden voor de toepassing van de Conventie van 1971 met onderdanen van die Staat gelijkgesteld.

(a) Dit Protocol zal worden ondertekend en moet worden bekrachtigd of aanvaard door de ondertekenende Staten; toetreding is mogelijk, overeenkomstig de bepalingen van artikel VIII van de Conventie van 1971.

(b) Dit Protocol treedt voor iedere Staat in werking op de datum van de nederlegging van de akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of toetreding door de betrokken Staat, mits deze Staat reeds partij is bij de Conventie van 1971.

(c) Op de datum van inwerkingtreding van dit Protocol voor een Staat die geen partij is bij Protocol 1 gehecht aan de Conventie van 1952, wordt laatstgenoemd Protocol geacht voor deze Staat in werking te zijn getreden.
