Sir,

With reference to the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Government of the United States of America concerning American Military Cemeteries, which Agreement was signed today, I have the honour to inform you that it is understood that the provisions of the exchange of notes between our two Governments of April 11, 1947, and the Agreement concluded by an exchange of notes of March 9, 1956, and also all subsequent exchanges of notes on the said Agreements are considered to be in force until the date on which the Agreement signed today shall enter into force.

I would appreciate if you would confirm that the foregoing is also the understanding of Your Government.

I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration.
