Resolution — by the ESRO Council concerning acceptance of an Aeronautical Satellite Programme Overeenkomst tussen zekere Lid-Staten van de Europese Organisatie voor Ruimteonderzoek en de Europese Organisatie voor Ruimteonderzoek inzake de tenuitvoerlegging van een programma betreffende luchtverkeerssatellieten

by the ESRO Council concerning acceptance of an Aeronautical Satellite Programme

The Council,

Having noted the Declaration made on 20 December 1971 by the representatives on the Council of the Organisation of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom,

Having considered the proposed Arrangement between certain Member States of the Organisation and the Organisation, concerning an aeronautical satellite programme and the proposed Memorandum of Understanding to be concluded between the Organisation, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States Department of Transportation, the Commonwealth of Australia, Canada and Japan,

1. Authorises the Director General, in conformity with Articles VIII and XIII of the Convention of ESRO, to sign the proposed Arrangement and the proposed Memorandum of Understanding mentioned above, subject to the provisions of 2 and 3 below,

2. Authorises the Director General, pending the coming into force of the provisions of the above-mentioned documents, and in conformity with the above-mentioned Declaration:

a. to make available, as required, the assistance of the Organisation and the use of its facilities for the programme;

b. to continue with the FAA the preparation of specifications for contracts to be concluded;

c. to cooperate in the organisation of the European participation in the Joint Programme Office;

3. Authorises the Director General, upon entry into force of the provisions of the above-mentioned documents, and in conformity with them:

a. to conclude the contracts necessary for the execution of the integrated programme;

b. to make any other provisions necessary for the execution of the integrated programme.
