Article I

Except as otherwise provided for in the present Agreement and any additional protocol in respect to its own Parties, all States Parties to the present Agreement shall apply the provisions of the Agreement between Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty regarding the status of their forces, done at London on 19 June 1951, hereinafter referred to as the NATO SOFA, as if all State Parties to the present Agreement were Parties to the NATO SOFA.

Article II

1 In addition to the area to which the NATO SOFA applies the present Agreement shall apply to the territory of all States Parties to the present Agreement which are not Parties to the NATO SOFA.

2 For the purposes of the present Agreement, references in the NATO SOFA to the North Atlantic Treaty area shall be deemed also to include the territories referred to in paragraph 1 of the present Article, and references to the North Atlantic Treaty shall be deemed to include the Partnership for Peace.

Article III

For purposes of implementing the present Agreement with respect to matters involving Parties that are not Parties to the NATO SOFA, provisions of the NATO SOFA that provide for requests to be submitted, or differences to be referred to the North Atlantic Council, the Chairman of the North Atlantic Council Deputies or an arbitrator shall be construed to require the Parties concerned to negotiate between or among themselves without recourse to any outside jurisdiction.

Article IV

The present Agreement may be supplemented or otherwise modified in accordance with international law.

Article V

1 The present Agreement shall be open for signature by any State that is either a contracting Party to the NATO SOFA, or that accepts the invitation to the Partnership for Peace and subscribes to the Partnership for Peace Framework Document.

2 The present Agreement shall be subject to ratification, acceptance or approval. Instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval shall be deposited with the Government of the United States of America, which shall notify all signatory States of each such deposit.

3 Thirty days after three signatory States, at least one of which is a Party to the NATO SOFA and one of which has accepted the invitation to the Partnership for Peace and subscribed to the Partnership for Peace Framework Document, have deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval, the present Agreement shall enter into force in respect of those States. It shall enter into force in respect of each other signatory State thirty days after the date of deposit of its instrument.

Article VI

The present Agreement may be denounced by any Party to this Agreement by giving written notification of denunciation to the Government of the United States of America, which will notify all signatory States of each such notification. The denunciation shall take effect one year after receipt of the notification by the Government of the United States of America. After the expiration of this period of one year, the present Agreement shall cease to be in force as regards the Party that denounces it, except for the settlement of outstanding claims that arose before the day on which the denunciation takes effect, but shall continue to be in force for the remaining Parties.

Additional Protocol to the Agreement among the States Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty and the other States participating in the Partnership for Peace regarding the status of their forces

Article I

Insofar as it has jurisdiction according to the provisions of the Agreement, each State Party to the present Additional Protocol shall not carry out a death sentence with regard to any member of a force and its civilian component, and their dependents from any other State Party to the present Additional Protocol.

Additional Protocol to the Agreement among the States Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty and the other States participating in the Partnership for Peace regarding the status of their forces

Article II

1 The present Protocol shall be open for signature by any signatory of the Agreement.

2 The present Protocol shall be subject to ratification, acceptance or approval. Instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval shall be deposited with the Government of the United States of America, which shall notify all signatory States of each such deposit.

3 The present Protocol shall enter into force 30 days after the date of deposit of the instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval by three signatory States, at least one of which is a Party to the NATO SOFA and one of which is a State having accepted the invitation to join the Partnership for Peace and having subscribed to the Partnership for Peace Framework Document.

4 The present Protocol shall come into force in respect of each other signatory State on the date of the deposit of its instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval with the Government of the United States of America.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel I

Tenzij in dit Verdrag of in enig aanvullend protocol aangaande de eigen Partijen anders is bepaald, passen alle Staten die Partij zijn bij dit Verdrag de bepalingen van het Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten, ondertekend te Londen op 19 juni 1951, hierna te noemen het NAVO Status-verdrag, toe als waren alle Staten die Partij zijn bij dit Verdrag Partij bij het NAVO-Status-verdrag.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel II

1 Dit Verdrag is, behalve op het gebied waarop het NAVO Status-verdrag van toepassing is, ook van toepassing op het grondgebied van alle Staten die Partij zijn bij dit Verdrag en die geen Partij zijn bij het NAVO Status-verdrag.

2 Voor de toepassing van dit Verdrag worden verwijzingen in het NAVO Status-verdrag naar het werkingsgebied van het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag geacht tevens de grondgebieden te omvatten waarnaar wordt verwezen in het eerste lid van dit artikel en worden verwijzingen naar het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag geacht tevens het Partnerschap voor de Vrede te omvatten.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel III

Voor de uitvoering van dit Verdrag ten aanzien van aangelegenheden waarbij Partijen betrokken zijn die geen Partij zijn bij het NAVO Status-verdrag, worden de bepalingen van het NAVO Status-verdrag waarin wordt bepaald dat verzoeken of geschillen moeten worden voorgelegd aan de Noordatlantische Raad, aan de Voorzitter van de Noordatlantische Raadsafgevaardigden of aan een scheidsman, zodanig geïnterpreteerd dat van de betrokken Partijen wordt verlangd onderling of met elkaar onderhandelingen te voeren zonder zich tot een externe rechterlijke instantie te wenden.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel IV

Dit Verdrag mag worden aangevuld of anderszins worden gewijzigd overeenkomstig het internationale recht.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel V

1 Dit Verdrag staat ter ondertekening open voor alle Staten die hetzij Partij zijn bij het NAVO Status-verdrag, hetzij op de uitnodiging voor het Partnerschap voor de Vrede ingaan en het Raamwerkdocument van het Partnerschap voor de Vrede onderschrijven.

2 Dit Verdrag dient te worden bekrachtigd, aanvaard of goedgekeurd. De akten van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring worden nedergelegd bij de Regering van de Verenigde Staten van Amerika, die van elke nederlegging mededeling doet aan alle ondertekenende Staten.

3 Dertig dagen nadat drie ondertekenende Staten, waarvan er ten minste één Partij is bij het NAVO Status-verdrag en één op de uitnodiging voor het Partnerschap voor de Vrede is ingegaan en het Raamwerkdocument van het Partnerschap voor de Vrede heeft onderschreven, hun akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring hebben nedergelegd, treedt dit Verdrag voor die Staten in werking. Voor elke andere ondertekenende Staat treedt het Verdrag in werking dertig dagen na de datum van nederlegging van het desbetreffende instrument.

Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel VI

Dit Verdrag kan door elke Partij worden opgezegd door middel van een schriftelijke kennisgeving van opzegging aan de Regering van de Verenigde Staten van Amerika, die alle ondertekenende Staten van elke opzegging mededeling zal doen. De opzegging wordt van kracht één jaar na ontvangst van de kennisgeving van opzegging door de Regering van de Verenigde Staten. Behoudens de regeling van uitstaande vorderingen ontstaan vóór de dag waarop de opzegging van kracht wordt, is dit Verdrag na afloop van de termijn van één jaar niet meer van kracht voor de opzeggende Partij, maar blijft het van kracht voor de overige Partijen.

Aanvullend Protocol bij het Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel I

Elke Staat die Partij is bij dit Aanvullend Protocol zal, voor zover deze overeenkomstig de bepalingen van het Verdrag rechtsmacht heeft, niet een doodvonnis ten uitvoer leggen met betrekking tot leden van de krijgsmachten of het daarbij behorende burgerpersoneel, noch op hun gezinsleden afkomstig uit een andere Staat die Partij is bij dit Aanvullend Protocol.

Aanvullend Protocol bij het Verdrag tussen de Staten die Partij zijn bij het Noord-Atlantisch Verdrag en de overige Staten die deelnemen aan het Partnerschap voor de Vrede nopens de rechtspositie van hun krijgsmachten

Artikel II

1 Dit Protocol staat ter ondertekening open voor alle Staten die het Verdrag hebben ondertekend.

2 Dit Protocol dient te worden bekrachtigd, aanvaard of goedgekeurd. De akten van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring worden nedergelegd bij de Regering van de Verenigde Staten van Amerika, die van elke nederlegging mededeling doet aan alle ondertekenende Staten.

3 Dit Protocol treedt in werking dertig dagen na de datum van nederlegging van de akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring door drie ondertekenende Staten, waarvan er ten minste één Partij is bij het NAVO Status-verdrag en één is ingegaan op de uitnodiging om zich aan te sluiten bij het Partnerschap voor de Vrede en het Raamwerkdocument van het Partnerschap voor de Vrede heeft onderschreven.

4 Voor elke andere ondertekenende Staat treedt dit Protocol in werking op de datum van nederlegging van zijn akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring bij de Regering van de Verenigde Staten van Amerika.
