5.3.17.3 Taxiway edge lights on a straight section of a taxiway and on a runway forming part of a standard taxi-route shall be spaced at uniform longitudinal intervals of not more than 60 m. The lights on a curve shall be spaced at intervals less than 60 m so that a clear indication of the curve is provided.

Note – Guidance on the spacing of taxiway edge lights on curves is given in the Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 4.

5.3.17.4 Taxiway edge lights on a holding bay, de-icing/anti-icing facility, apron, etc. shall be spaced at uniform longitudinal intervals of not more than 60 m.

5.3.17.5 Taxiway edge lights on a runway turn pad shall be spaced at uniform longitudinal intervals of not more than 30 m.

5.3.17.6 The lights shall be located as near as practicable to the edges of the taxiway, runway turn pad, holding bay, de-icing/anti-icing facility, apron or runway, etc. or outside the edges at a distance of not more than 3 m.
